Gettysburg Pennsylvania Travel Information

The name Gettysburg is synonymous with the Civil War and the town has surely not forgotten with Civil War landmarks and various battlefield tours attracting millions of tourists each year. You can’t visit Gettysburg without a trip to General Lee’s Headquarters or the Gettysburg National Cemetery. This richly historical town offers train rides through the countryside, haunted ghost walks at night and local skiing on its nearby slopes.

For a true feel of the famous battlefield, walk or hike through one of the trails that wind through the area, or take a horseback tour through the park. Visit the Hall of Presidents featuring wax figures of all who governed our nation, from Mt. Vernon to the present day Oval Office.

Gettysburg remains a monument to its heritage and the reverential feel in the air is palpable to all who bear homage to our forefathers fight for our country.

You can get to Gettysburg off of I-15 and State Route 30 run through the town.

Intro to Amish Country

Amish Country, in the western central part of the state, is comprised of several small towns with populations under 10,000. Peddlers and 5 & 10’s still exist in Beaver County where life is lived at a pace far less hurried than the present day norm.
