Oil Region National Heritage Area

Oil Region National Heritage Area in northwestern Pennsylvania tells of the world's first successful commercial oil well and a legacy of petroleum that continues to shape industry, society, and politics. The Oil Region includes oil artifacts, scenic communities, farmlands and woodlands, and industrial landscapes, and offers visitors heritage attractions and four seasons of outdoor recreation.

 Directions

Oil Region National Heritage Area is located in northwestern Pennsylvania. Vehicle drivers who access Exits 29, 35, 42, and 45 of I-80 immediately enter the southern edge of the Oil Region National Heritage Area. Major communities are Emlenton, Barkeyville, Cranberry, Franklin, Oil City, and Titusville.

Average monthly temperatures are 23° Fahrenheit to 70°. Sunny 50% to 70% monthly averages. Average annual precipitation is 43 inches of rain. Average annual snowfall is 74 inches. Humidity in the afternoon averages 56% to 72% monthly.
