The Allegheny River is sprinkled with islands. By the Pennsylvania Wilderness Act of 1984, Congress designated seven islands -- Crull's, Thompson's, R. Thompson;s, Courson, King, Baker, and No-name, as Wilderness. The islands, along with about 90 others (privately owned) dot the river between the Kinzua Dam and the town of Tionesta.

A good map of the Allegheny River water accesses is available from local Tourist Promotion Agencies or any local Forest Service office. Allegheny National Forest Administrative maps and Topographic maps are available on-line.
