Description
In a city rich with history, the Atwater Kent Museum, just a stone's throw from the Liberty Bell and Independence Hall, offers visitors the chance to learn more not just about Philadelphia's early roots but also its development into a big 21st-century urban center. In addition to historic artifacts, like the camp cutlery of George Washington and an old school dictation machine, the museum also counts as part of its permanent collection a long list of photographs, prints and paintings and plays host to a variety of changing exhibits, some of them, like Experience Philadelphia, designed to encourage visitors to learn more about the region through orienting displays and a giant regional map.
