Description

Comprised of two museum buildings (as well as a Fine Arts school), the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts offers two contrasting introductions to fine art that collectively reaches from the Colonial period to the present. In the Historic Landmark Building the collection includes works by artists from the past two centuries like John James Audubon, Milton Avery and Winslow Homer. Just up the street is the Samuel M V Hamilton Building, where the galleries showcase works more contemporary from paintings to sculpture and mixed media. Changing exhibits feature pieces by established and emerging international artists. Check the events calendar for information.
