Description

Pine Creek Gorge, also known as the Grand Canyon of Pennsylvania, covers over 300,000 acres of woodland in the Tioga State Forest. It offers spectacular views into the 800-foot deep, glacially-carved canyon, abundant wildlife and beautiful foliage. At its deepest point, Pine Creek Gorge is 1,450 feet deep and nearly one mile wide. The Canyon begins south of Ansonia, near Wellsboro, along US Route 6 and continues for approximately 47 miles.

The Pine Creek Rail Trail is a public path that is used for biking, hiking and cross country skiing. This trail stretches the entire length of the canyon floor. For more hiking options, the West Rim Trail is a 30 mile trail that follows the western edge of the canyon and is strictly for hiking.
