From Devil's Den to Little Round Top, it's an introduction to pivotal points in the Civil War visitors to the atmospheric town of Gettysburg and the associated battlefield will get on a driving or walking tour.
Try this trail in the muddy dampness of spring or the slick snow and ice of winter for an extremely challenging experience. If "challenging" is enough for you, Slaughterhouse Gulch is still quite rough, a route of steep stretches and plenty of rocks. One, Poser Rock, can quite handily flip you on your side if you're not careful. Try the Mud Pits for a bit of a "bath" for your jeep - but don't get stuck. "Whoopdeedoos" or dirt moguls are scattered everywhere along this trail.
